This decision was made during a meeting between representatives of the Asian Football Confederation (AFF) and the tournament organizers on the afternoon of September 9. The U19 Indonesia team was fined 5,000 USD for not printing the player's name on the shirt, according to the tournament's regulations.

In Group A, U19 Indonesia was eliminated after two consecutive losses against U19 Thailand and U19 Myanmar. Talking about the journey of U19 Indonesia, coach Indra Sjafri said: "This year we have encountered many strong teams in the U19 Southeast Asian tournament. In the first match against Thailand, we lost our spirit quite early and then led to an unstable mentality in the next match."

The defeat of Indonesia U19 became even more serious when AFF issued a decision to fine Indra Sjafri and his team 5,000 USD after the team was eliminated. According to initial information, this amount will be paid directly by the Indonesian Football Federation (IFF) to AFF.

While youth football in some Southeast Asian countries such as Vietnam, Myanmar, and Thailand is showing signs of strong development, Indonesia seems to be still standing still. At the Brunei King's Cup in August, U19 Indonesia only won 1 match, lost 3 matches and was eliminated in the group stage./.
