COn the afternoon of March 15 at Tu Do Stadium (Hue), the 2018 National U19 Finals ended with the final match between Dong Thap and Hanoi. Attending the audience were Vietnam National Team Head Coach Park Hang Seo and a large audience.
Having drawn 2-2 in the group stage, the confrontation between Dong Thap and Hanoi was considered "eight taels, half a pound". Although being the defending champion, the previous history of this generation of players being at a disadvantage made Hanoi not dare to increase the speed. Although controlling the ball a bit better, Hanoi did not create many problems towards Dong Thap's goal.
For their part, Bui Van Dong's students also failed to create clear scoring situations towards Hanoi's goal. In the 87th minute, Hong Son of Hanoi received a red card and left the field, but Dong Thap could not take advantage of this little extra time to break the balance on the field.
After a 0-0 draw in the first half, the two teams were forced to enter a penalty shootout to determine the champion. Dong Thap won the championship cup after defeating Hanoi 3-2 in this lucky match.
