Speaking at the award ceremony, midfielder Luong Xuan Truong, on behalf of the team, said: "The U19 Vietnam team is very lucky to receive this award for the second consecutive year. Last year, the team set the criteria of playing beautiful football to bring success. Thank you to the fans who have always accompanied and supported us over the years."

In 2014, the Vietnam U19 team debuted to the national audience at the U19 International tournament held in January in Ho Chi Minh City. Losing all three matches against big opponents such as U19 Tottenham, U19 AS Roma and U19 Japan, but with beautiful and technical playing style, the Vietnam U9 players still received the sympathy of fans.

After two training trips to Europe and Japan, the U19 players continued to make a splash when they finished second in the U22 Southeast Asia - Brunei King's Cup. Next, the team reached the final of the U19 Southeast Asia Open at My Dinh. At the U19 Asia tournament, although they did not win a ticket to the next round, coach Graechen and his team were still praised for their 1-1 draw with China.

The majority of the U19 Vietnam team are young talents from the HAGL Arsenal JMG academy. This academy team, with Cong Phuong, Xuan Truong, and Tuan Anh as the core, won the U21 International tournament in Can Tho.

The beautiful, carefree, and pure playing style of the U19 Vietnam players has won the hearts of fans. Every time they enter the field, the stands from Thong Nhat, My Dinh, and Can Tho are packed with spectators.
