U19 Vietnam reunites with U19 Indonesia at Hassanal Bolkiah Cup 2014

The Brunei Football Federation has just announced that U19 Indonesia will participate in the 2014 Hassanal Bolkiah Cup and will be in the same group with U19 Vietnam.

U19 Vietnam will have more opponents to compete with before the U19 Asian Cup Finals.

With the presence of U19 Indonesia, the Organizing Committee of the Hassanal Bolkiad Cup 2014 had to redraw lots and reschedule the match. Accordingly, U19 Indonesia will be in Group B with U19 Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and host Brunei. Thus, U19 Vietnam will have the opportunity to compete again in the group stage with the opponent who defeated Coach Guillaume and his team in the final match of U19 Southeast Asia 2013 after the penalty shootout.

According to the plan, U19 Vietnam will gather again on August 4 with 22 players. However, coach Guillaume did not call up 6 players who attended the training session in Japan: Luong Hoang Nam, Vu Van Thanh, Tran Anh Thi, Nguyen Viet Nguyen, Nguyen Doan Duy Anh and Lam Ti Phong. However, the captain of U19 Vietnam has called back central defender Truong Van Thiet (Viettel) and defender Ksor Uc (HAGL).

The 2014 Hassanal Bolkiah Cup is considered an ideal practice for U19 Vietnam in preparation for the 2014 AFC U19 Championship. According to the regulations, the Organizing Committee only allows each team to register 18 players for the tournament, so 4 players will have to be spectators in Brunei.
