U19 Vietnam rose to the top of the table in the U19 Asian qualifiers

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team won a resounding 5-0 victory over U19 Brunei in the second match on the afternoon of October 2.

U19 Vietnam has consecutively defeated U19 Hong Kong (China) and U19 Brunei.

After the first two matches, U19 Brunei clearly showed that they are the underdogs in Group G when they lost all matches, conceded eight goals and did not score any goals. Against a weak opponent, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his players not only set the goal of winning three points but also had to try to score as much as possible to have a good secondary index.

In the second minute, U19 Vietnam concretized their superiority with the opening goal thanks to Ho Minh Di. However, U19 Brunei then tightened their formation, defending with a large number of players and fiercely, making it difficult for coach Hoang Anh Tuan's team to score more goals. It was not until the 25th minute that Lam Thuan was able to double the gap, at the same time causing U19 Brunei to lose morale. As a result, U19 Vietnam scored three more goals thanks to Duy Khanh, Trong Hoa and Minh Di before the end of the first half.

After the break, U19 Brunei played with determination. Meanwhile, U19 Vietnam was no longer playing with the strongest lineup and spirit. Coach Hoang Anh Tuan made personnel and tactical adjustments, in order to save energy for the match in two days with U19 Timor Leste - the second-placed team with four points after two matches. The match was therefore less exciting, and despite having more possession of the ball, U19 Vietnam could not score any more goals.

After Timor Leste, on October 6, coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his team will meet host U19 Myanmar in the final match of the qualifying round. Their goal is to be number one in this group, aiming to win a ticket to the U19 Asian Cup finals held in Bahrain in October 2016.
