The U21 Vietnam players had a smooth start to the Thanh Nien Newspaper International U21 Tournament, with an easy 2-0 victory over U21 Myanmar.

Entering this tournament, U21 Myanmar was not highly rated, because the young players of Myanmar who went to Ninh Thuan this time were all only 17-18 years old, as the Myanmar coach admitted that his young team was still too immature.

In the previous match, U21 Sydney FC easily won 4-1 against U21 Singapore.

The Thanh Nien Newspaper International U21 Tournament has the participation of 5 teams including Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, Sydney FC (Australia) and the host team Vietnam. The teams compete in a round robin format, then the 4 teams with the highest scores will compete for first, second and third place.

Prize structure: first team 12,000 USD; second team 7,000 USD; third team 5,000 USD, style award 3,000 USD. In addition, there are many other awards such as: player with most goals, best player, best goalkeeper, referee who completed the task, best Vietnamese player (each award 500 USD), best player of each match, first goal scorer of each match 100 USD; fair-play award of each match (each award 100 USD)... The final match and closing ceremony will take place on the afternoon of October 23./.
