(Baonghean) -At 4pm this afternoon (November 3), U23 Vietnam will open the men's football event of the 26th SEA Games with a match against U23 Philippines. In Group B with 5 relatively weak opponents: Philippines, Laos, East Timor, Brunei, a victory against the Philippines - the opponent considered to be stronger than the remaining teams, the road to the semi-finals will be wide open for U23 Vietnam.

In terms of class and achievements, U23 Philippines is inferior to U23 Vietnam, but coach Goetz and his team are not complacent. Immediately after arriving in Jakarta, U23 Vietnam immediately deployed training sessions with tactics to sharpen their attacking ability and train their defense's ability to defend. After the training session at Senayan Bung Karno Stadium, coach Falko Goetz said: "I am satisfied that the players have worked hard in today's training session. Regarding the opponent Philippines, it is not easy to get information about them, we have a little information, but in my opinion, the most important thing is that we have the best preparation to have a good match."

After the success at the AFF Cup 2010 with a series of naturalized players, the Philippines participated in this SEA Games with the goal of winning a medal. The Philippine Football Federation has had a series of ambitious preparation plans to materialize that target when having a long training session in Japan. In the list of preparation for the 26th SEA Games, the U23 Philippines called up more than 10 naturalized foreign players, including 5 players who participated in the AFF Cup 2010. The team is also led by coach Michael Weiss, who is highly appreciated by his compatriot Falko Goetz. Therefore, coach Falko Goetz affirmed that the Philippines is the strongest opponent in Group B competing for 2 tickets to the semi-finals with U23 Vietnam.

With a fairly simple playing style of long passes, wing crosses and headers to take advantage of the physique of naturalized players, U23 Philippines will cause many difficulties for the U23 Vietnam defense. The recent lesson is the 0-2 loss at home of Vietnam against the Philippines in the group stage of AFF Cup 2010, surely the witnesses who attended this match, Thanh Luong and Trong Hoang, will not forget to remind their teammates to be careful when entering the match.

This afternoon, Falko Goetz and his team will certainly enter the match with the highest determination to overcome the U23 Philippines "gate", opening the way to conquer the "golden dream" at the 26th SEA Games. Millions of Vietnamese fans are waiting for good news from Indonesia!
