Currently, U23 Vietnam has four players who cannot play due to injury: Huy Hung, Thanh Hien, Tan Tai and Hoang Lam. Among them, Huy Hung is the most regrettable absence, as he was considered by Coach Miura to be the center of midfield for both the Vietnam Olympic team at the 17th Asian Games and the Vietnam team at the 2014 AFF Cup. The opportunity to play in this match will most likely be given to Tuan Anh. The midfielder who grew up at the HAGL Arsenal JMG Academy is eager to prove himself after the U23 Asia qualifiers did not meet the requirements.
On the other side of the front line, U23 Korea announced that they came to Hanoi to defeat U23 Vietnam, not for tourism. Team leader Moon Chae-hyun affirmed that coach Shin Tae-yong brought very high-quality students to Vietnam, including three players from clubs playing in the K-League and the whole team will play their best to maintain their reputation.
The style of play that coach Shin Tae-yong built for U23 Korea is very modern. The strategist, who is considered as “Asian Mourinho”, always requires his students to play one-touch football, moving continuously without the ball. Thanks to their good physique, the Korean team can flexibly switch to playing high balls once they are caught.
