U23 Vietnam calls up additional central defender Thanh Chung

Coach Park Hang-seo has called up one more player for the U23 Vietnam team. That is central defender Thanh Chung of Hanoi FC.

Coach Park Hang-seo will have additional personnel for U23 Vietnam after the international friendly tournament M-150 Cup 2017 in Thailand. The two names he summoned are both in the defense line. Besides goalkeeper Phi Minh Long who was called back after recovering from a wrist injury, another face is Thanh Chung, a center back of Hanoi FC who also played for U19 Vietnam under coach Hoang Anh Tuan.

Unlike players of the same generation such as Ha Duc Chinh, Nguyen Trong Dai, Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Quang Hai… this is the first time Thanh Chung has been called up to the Vietnam U23 team. In the first two seasons playing in the V.League, Thanh Chung played in 32/52 matches of Hanoi FC.

The presence of Thanh Chung will create more competition for the central defender position of U23 Vietnam. Also in today's training session, Coach Park Hang-seo changed from 3 defenders to 4 defenders. In which, the two wingers are Van Hau (left) and Van Thanh (right). The central defender pair is Dinh Trong and Van Khanh.

U23 Vietnam will have 3 days to prepare before entering the friendly match against Ulsan Huyndai (Korea) on the evening of December 21 at Hang Day Stadium.
