Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front summarizes 5 years of the "Repaying gratitude" movement
(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, June 28, the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province held a 5-year summary of the "Repaying gratitude" movements (2007-2012). Attending were comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors, provincial and district-level organizations, and Heroic Vietnamese Mothers.
Comrade Dinh Viet Hong praised the achievements of collectives and individuals who have well implemented the movement "Repaying gratitude"
Currently, Nghe An has nearly 90,000 meritorious people enjoying the policies of the Party and the State, with a payment of 78 billion VND/month. With the philosophy of "remembering the source of water when drinking", the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province regularly pays attention to policies for meritorious people and mobilizes all people to actively participate in the "Repaying gratitude" movements.
In the past 5 years, the "Repaying gratitude" movement has received the consensus and positive response of all classes of people, agencies, units, local departments and organizations. There are 81 agencies, units, enterprises, schools, and social organizations registered to support 161 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers for life. The whole province has also mobilized over 65 billion VND from the "Repaying gratitude" Fund to build nearly 3,000 new gratitude houses, repair and upgrade nearly 8,000 gratitude houses for families with preferential policies; build and renovate 70 cemeteries, memorials, martyrs' steles, and martyrs' steles. In the past 5 years, union members and youths in the whole province have donated nearly 10 billion VND and thousands of working days to help families with preferential policies. In addition, communes, wards, towns, agencies, enterprises, and philanthropists have donated over 32,000 savings books of gratitude to policy beneficiaries with a total amount of over 12 billion VND. Currently, 100% of policy families have stable housing, and 85% of children of policy families after graduating from universities, colleges, and vocational schools are arranged jobs.

The conference also pointed out some shortcomings and defects in the implementation of the "Repaying gratitude" policy in the past 5 years such as: the implementation of policies for people with meritorious services in some places still has negative consequences, the movement is sometimes and somewhere not implemented evenly.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: In the coming time, all levels and sectors need to continue to promote the tradition and morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", and pay more attention to families with meritorious services to the revolution.
At the conference, provincial leaders presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2012).
Awarding certificates of merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives and individuals who have successfully implemented the movement "Repaying gratitude"
On this occasion, 17 groups and 15 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the "Repaying gratitude" movement in the period 2007-2012.
