Dien Chau District People's Committee handles the issue raised in the newspaper
(Baonghean) -Nghe An Newspaper published on March 1, 2014, in the section "Hotline Information" reported: The road along the dike in Dien Bich commune is full of garbage, and it smells foul on sunny and rainy days. Here, people use the open space to dry shrimp shells, fish sauce, and fish, making the road dirty and polluting the surrounding environment. We request that local leaders take measures to deal with this problem and return a green, clean, and beautiful environment to this road."
After conducting inspection and verificationRegarding the above content, on March 21, 2014, Dien Chau District People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 42/UBND-TNMT reporting the results of inspection and handling as follows:
The 2.7 km long section of the dike to prevent saltwater intrusion in Dien Bich commune. Along this dike road, people have dumped a large amount of waste, including waste, shrimp shells, fish sauce, and fish on the dike road, causing environmental pollution as reported in the newspaper. Dien Bich is a poor coastal commune, with a natural area of 281.45 hectares, mainly saline land, rivers, and mangrove forests. It has 2,330 households with 10,665 people divided into 8 hamlets. Currently, the People's Committee of the commune has completed the construction of a centralized landfill, but has not yet put it into operation because it is focusing on building a road to the landfill with a length of more than 1 km. Therefore, the situation of people dumping waste indiscriminately along the sea dike is inevitable.
To deal with the above situation, the People's Committee of Dien Bich commune has repeatedly mobilized people and hired workers to collect and treat the garbage. However, the roadside of the sea dike is only clean for a while before people take the garbage out to dump again.
To overcome the environmental pollution situation in Dien Bich commune, Dien Chau District People's Committee has directed Dien Bich Commune People's Committee to immediately focus on collecting and treating all the waste dumped along the dike and urgently promote the construction of the road to the landfill, completing the project as soon as possible to put the landfill into operation, ending the situation where people have no place to dump their waste but dump it on the dike, causing loss of aesthetics and environmental pollution; Assigning Dien Bich Commune People's Committee to organize the establishment of a team to collect, transport and treat waste before putting the landfill into operation and strictly prohibiting people from using the dike road to dry shrimp shells, fish sauce, fish, etc.; Assigning Dien Bich Commune People's Committee to have strict sanctions against units and individuals who cause environmental pollution according to regulations and send the Implementation Report to the District People's Committee (through the Department of Natural Resources and Environment) before March 28, 2014.
