Hung Nguyen District People's Committee handles the issue raised in the newspaper

(Baonghean)- Nghe An Newspaper No. 9513 dated August 4, 2013, reported that people in Hung Phuc Commune, Hung Nguyen District reported: "At the cemetery of hamlet 5 and hamlet 6, Hung Phuc Commune, next to the main road of the commune, some people lack awareness to dump garbage, creating a large pile of garbage that smells, polluting the environment. People have made many complaints but the commune and district authorities have not intervened to handle the matter.

On August 26, 2013, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district issued Official Dispatch No. 601/UBND responding and clarifying a number of issues raised by the newspaper as follows:

- On April 27, 2011, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district issued Decision No. 225/QD - UBND on promulgating the "Project on collection and treatment of waste in the district for the period 2011-2015"; up to now, 13/24 communes in the district have implemented the project (communes: Hung Linh, Hung Long, Hung Xa, Hung Xuan, Hung Tan, Hung Thong, Hung Thang, Hung Phuc, Hung Tay, Hung My, Hung Dao, Hung Chau, Hung Nguyen Town) and 2 communes: Hung Loi and Hung Lam are holding meetings to unify the model. According to the content of the project, the People's Committees of communes and towns established a waste collection team at the waste transfer station and signed a contract with Nghe An Urban Environment Company to collect and transport waste to the location specified by the province for treatment.

- Hung Phuc Commune People's Committee is one of the communes that has implemented the project since 2011. Every month, Nghe An Urban Environment Company will collect and transport garbage from the transfer stations of Hung Phuc Commune to the treatment site of the province. As reflected by Nghe An Newspaper about the garbage point at the cemetery of hamlet 5 and hamlet 6 of Hung Phuc Commune causing environmental pollution, it is the garbage transfer station of Hung Phuc Commune; this is the garbage collection point before the garbage collection vehicle of Nghe An Urban Environment Company arrives to collect and transport. Therefore, sometimes there is a backlog of garbage due to heavy rain, unfavorable weather or problems on the side of Nghe An Urban Environment Company that cannot collect on time according to the prescribed schedule.

Receiving the opinions mentioned in the Newspaper, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district has directed the inspection and handling, and on August 19, 2013, the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district issued Official Letter No. 576/UBND directing the People's Committee of Hung Phuc commune to completely handle the above situation; at the same time, propagandize and mobilize people to be aware of environmental protection, dump garbage at the right place and time according to regulations, do not litter. Establish a self-management team on environmental work in hamlets and residential areas; organize inspections of implementation, if organizations and individuals are found to be violating, they will be handled according to the provisions of law. Currently, Hung Phuc commune is gradually handling and overcoming the pollution problem at the garbage transfer station mentioned in the Newspaper.
