Nam Dan District People's Committee handles the issue raised by the newspaper

(Baonghean) - Nghe An Newspaper on February 23, 2014, in the section "Hotline Information", stated: "Residents of Xuan Hoa - Nam Dan commune reported: Despite repeated warnings, along both sides of National Highway 46, the section between Xuan Hoa commune and Nam Dan town, there is still a situation where people litter, causing serious environmental pollution. The roadside has become a garbage dump hundreds of meters long, in some places garbage is piled up, spilling into the canal, causing blockage of the flow, polluting the water source, affecting the living environment and spoiling the beauty. To end this situation, it is necessary for local authorities and related sectors to take action".

After the report was published, the Nam Dan District People's Committee assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to inspect and clarify the contents of the report. On March 19, 2014, the Nam Dan District People's Committee issued Official Dispatch No. 317/UBND-TNMT on inspecting and handling the reflection in Nghe An Newspaper with the following content:

In the past time, the People's Committee of Xuan Hoa commune has taken many measures to organize the implementation of environmental sanitation and waste treatment such as: Developing a waste collection project, regularly propagating on the commune's radio system; assigning hamlets to take charge of environmental sanitation work in the hamlets; contracting labor to both take care of trees and handle waste along both sides of National Highway 46; assigning the Commune Police Department, coordinating with environmental cadastral officials, and hamlet executive committees to strictly inspect and handle violations; periodically on the 27th of every month, organizing for people to clean up hamlets, roads passing through the commune...

Through actual inspection, there are still some people who lack awareness to put garbage in sacks, taking advantage of the dark to dump it on National Highway 46, passing through Xuan Hoa commune, adjacent to Nam Dan town, causing unsanitary and unsightly conditions as the newspaper reported. However, it is not to the extent that garbage piles up and causes serious environmental pollution.

Nam Dan District People's Committee would like to accept and continue to direct Xuan Hoa Commune People's Committee to collect and treat waste along both sides of National Highway 46, and strengthen inspection and strictly handle violations.
