(Baonghean) - The Nghe An Newspaper, in its September 30, 2014 issue, in the "Hotline Information" section, reported on the concerns of residents of hamlets 6 and 7, Nghi Kim commune, Vinh City: For many years, hamlets 6 and 7 in Nghi Kim commune have suffered from environmental pollution caused by the Dong Vinh landfill. The government provided residents with health insurance and support for hazardous work and production. In 2012, when the landfill was moved to Nghi Yen, all benefits were cut, while the toxic residue still remains. Residents hope that the authorities will consider the situation to both definitively resolve the environmental pollution problem and continue to provide practical support for healthcare and production.

After reviewing the issue raised in the report, on October 1, 2014, the People's Committee of Vinh City issued Official Letter No. 4766/UBND-VP with the following opinion:

The Head of the City's Finance and Planning Department is tasked with inspecting, reviewing, and clarifying the issues related to the content of the report. Simultaneously, they are to advise the City People's Committee on a solution in accordance with regulations and provide a response to Nghe An Newspaper before October 15, 2014.

We request that the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee in charge of urban affairs direct the relevant units to implement this promptly and seriously.
