Provincial People's Committee directs to strengthen drowning prevention work in children
(Baonghean.vn) - On August 18, the Provincial People's Committee issued Directive No. 5931/UBND-VX on strengthening the direction of child drowning prevention.
Accordingly, in recent years, the work of preventing drowning in children in the province has been directed by all levels and sectors, the rate of child deaths due to drowning has decreased. However, this situation, especially in the past few summer months, still occurs frequently, with many tragic drowning cases.
To reduce the number of children dying from drowning, the Provincial People's Committee requests provincial departments, branches, sectors, and organizations and People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns to strengthen leadership and direction in the work of preventing drowning in children: Allocate state budget and mobilize social resources to implement activities to prevent drowning in children (propaganda; organize training on knowledge of preventing drowning in children; ...); replicate the models of "Safe School", "Safe House"; "Safe Community"; incorporate the content of the Child Injury Prevention Program into extracurricular activities in primary and secondary schools; organize collective recreational activities to attract children to safe and useful activities; strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of regulations on waterway traffic safety; promptly commend good examples and strictly handle irresponsible units and individuals in the work of preventing drowning in children.
