On the morning of September 22, 2012, the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Department of Transport, the Provincial Youth Union and related departments and branches to listen to and give opinions on the plan to coordinate the organization of activities to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Truong Bon victory. Truong Bon was the focus of fierce attacks by the US imperialists during the war. Here, on October 31, 1968, 13 youth volunteers sacrificed their lives in a bombing raid by the US. In order to demonstrate the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", to show gratitude to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives to keep the road for vehicles to the front line, to contribute to educating the tradition of patriotism and national pride for the younger generation, on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of Truong Bon's victory, Nghe An province will organize main activities such as: Offering incense and flowers at Truong Bon Historical Relic Site; starting construction of a number of projects related to the relic such as the Temple of heroic martyrs at Truong Bon Historical Relic Site; upgrading and expanding Road 15A from Nam Dan to Truong Bon on the morning of October 27; Visiting and giving gifts to the relatives of the 13 Youth Volunteers who sacrificed their lives at Truong Bon; organize art exchange programs...Thereby, continue to call on organizations and individuals to support the construction of Truong Bon Historical Relic Site to soon complete the main component projects in 2013 - on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the sacrifice of 13 Youth Volunteers at Truong Bon. Particularly, the art program "Truong Bon Legend" is expected to be broadcast live on Vietnam Television (VTV1) at 8:00 p.m. on October 27, 2012 from Truong Bon Historical Relic Site.
At the meeting, the relevant units discussed how to best prepare for the activities commemorating the 44th anniversary of Truong Bon victory. In particular, the propaganda work on mass media was given top priority, the issue of clearing the land of households around the relic, unifying the name of the art program, ensuring security and order before, during and after the activities...
Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman emphasized: These are extremely important activities to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Truong Bon victory, and the art program will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television. Therefore, preparations must be very careful. Urgently complete the site clearance work before October 5, 2012. Press agencies, especially Nghe An newspaper and the provincial Radio and Television Station, will launch a wide-ranging propaganda campaign about the celebration. Relevant departments, branches and organizations will actively coordinate to carry out the assigned tasks so that the activities will be successful./.
