Provincial People's Committee meets to resolve problems for Korean investors
On the afternoon of August 15, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with 12 Korean investors to resolve problems arising at the companies of these investors in Nghe An. At the meeting, the Department of Planning and Investment reported on the results of cooperation with Korea and the results of resolving problems after the meeting on June 13, 2013. Up to now, there are 12 Korean investors implementing projects in Nghe An with a total registered investment capital of 60.98 million USD. Traffic problems at Yen Thanh banana factory, electricity production for Prex Vinh factory, social insurance at Haivina Kim Lien Company have been resolved. The problems of banana land and investment procedures of the Vietnam-Korea Food Production Factory have not been resolved. However, there are currently a number of strikes at factories, requiring coordination between the parties to resolve them.

Korean investors also raised many opinions about land lease procedures, investment incentives, social insurance, health insurance, maternity benefits, overtime hours, etc., requesting responses from the authorities.
After listening to Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien and the departments answer the investors' questions, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Duong - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee concluded, highly appreciated the Korean investors for their interest and focus on investing in Nghe An. The projects were all implemented quickly and effectively, having important significance for the socio-economic development in the area. Regarding some of the investors' questions, it is recommended that the departments and localities resolve them immediately. On the part of the investors, it is necessary to carefully study the provisions of Vietnamese law, exchange information, meet with workers to have a good solution, avoid collective strikes. Investors with questions need to send documents to the Department of Planning and Investment and the Provincial People's Committee for timely resolution.
