Provincial People's Committee commends drug case 199T
(Baonghean.vn) -On September 16, the People's Committee and the Nghe An Provincial Police organized an award ceremony for the 199T Project Team for their achievements in arresting 4 subjects and seizing a large quantity of drugs and many related exhibits.
Previously, on September 13, 2013, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Nghe An Province Police coordinated with a number of professional units to arrest four subjects including Hoang Van Phon (born in 1963), the ringleader, residing in Vo Liet Commune; Bien Van Hieu (born in 1976) and Nguyen Van Thanh (born in 1971), both residing in Thanh Long, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An, and Nguyen Thanh Tam (born in 1977), residing in Block 8, Ha Huy Tap Ward, Vinh City, for illegally storing drugs.

The seized exhibits included 20 heroin cakes, 5.5 kg of crystal meth, 100 pink pills, 1 handgun with 6 bullets, 1 car, 1 electronic scale, 9,000 USD, more than 40 million VND in cash and some related evidence. It is known that this is a transnational drug trafficking case from Laos to Nghe An to the southern provinces for consumption.
With outstanding achievements, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and the leaders of Nghe An Provincial Police presented flowers and gifts to encourage and reward the forces participating in the fight against the special case, and at the same time hoped that the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department would promote its tradition as a heroic unit of the People's Armed Forces and continue to make more efforts in drug prevention and control, contributing to curbing and gradually pushing back drug crimes and social evils in Nghe An./.
