Nghe An Provincial People's Committee holds regular meeting in February

(Baonghean.vn) –This morning, February 20, under the chairmanship of comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a regular meeting for February 2012 to listen to and give opinions on a number of issues regarding socio-economic development, administrative reform, budget revenue and expenditure in February and solutions for March.

At the meeting, delegates heard the announcement of the results of the implementation of the Conclusion of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee in January. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee has implemented a number of key tasks, including: Issuing documents to concretize the Resolutions approved by the 16th Provincial People's Council at the 3rd session; focusing on directing the promotion of agricultural production - especially spring production to prevent avian influenza and cold for livestock; promoting site clearance. In particular, focusing on key projects; organizing well the Conference to meet investors at the beginning of the year; supporting poor communes in difficult areas and a number of other cultural and social tasks.

Next, the Provincial People's Committee listened to the report on the socio-economic situation and budget implementation in February, and tasks and solutions in March. In the field of agricultural production, the whole province focused on spring crop production in 2012. Although there were epidemics in livestock and poultry in Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Tuong Duong, Quy Hop, the localities proactively suppressed the epidemic and isolated the area. In February, industrial production continued to face many difficulties, however, industrial production in February had a fairly good increase, over 15% compared to January and nearly 23% compared to the same period last year. Budget revenue in the first two months of the year is estimated at 765.6 billion VND, equal to 12.6% of the estimate, equal to 33.8% of the same period. Of which, domestic revenue is estimated at 695.6 billion VND, equal to 13.3% of the estimate, equal to 31.9% of the same period. Attention has been paid to the work of attracting investment and developing enterprises. Successfully organized the Spring 2012 Investor Meeting. At this conference, the province granted investment certificates to 3 projects with a total investment capital of 825.4 billion VND. In February 2012 (up to February 15), business certificates were granted to 34 enterprises.

In the field of culture and society, the Provincial People's Committee has directed sectors and localities to organize and manage cultural and festival activities well; take care of education and health care activities. Also in February, the whole province created jobs for 3,500 workers, of which 1,600 were exported. National defense, security, and social order and safety were maintained without any hot spots.

In March 2012, the whole province will focus on implementing the following key tasks: implementing the Resolutions of the 3rd and 4th Central Committees for all sectors and levels; strengthening the work of basic construction; taking care of site clearance, continuing to promote investment and removing obstacles for registered investment projects associated with enterprise development; directing the production of spring crops, industrial crops, afforestation and implementing the new rural program; continuing to promote industrial and service production; budget revenue and expenditure; effectively implementing the State management of land management, site clearance and administrative reform; taking care of the socio-cultural fields, effectively implementing the work of ensuring social security and the environment; further improving the work of national defense, security and social order and safety.

Also this morning, the Provincial People's Committee heard a report on administrative reform work in February, tasks and solutions for March 2012; and a decision to issue criteria for annual evaluation and classification of state administrative work for provincial departments, branches, and sectors and district and commune People's Committees.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Ho Duc Phoc emphasized: in 2012, Nghe An province continued to face many difficulties. The budget collection situation encountered many difficulties, suggesting that sectors and levels pay attention, right from the first months of the year, it is necessary to save spending, limit unnecessary spending. Strengthen inspection and handling of tax-violating units, and at the same time pay attention to units that are entitled to tax reduction and exemption. Sectors and localities focus on completing spring crop production, disease prevention, and cold protection for livestock and poultry. Review enterprises, remove difficulties and obstacles for enterprises to operate; strengthen warnings about risks of financial funds and black credit. Inspect price management stages, fight against smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, and trade fraud.
