Nghe An Provincial People's Committee holds regular meeting in March 2012

(Baonghean.vn)-This morning, March 21, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a regular meeting in March to listen to and give opinions on a number of contents of the socio-economic development situation, administrative reform work, and projects presented by the Department of Planning and Investment. In the context of many economic difficulties, in the first quarter of 2012, the province's socio-economic growth continued to be maintained. GDP growth rate in the first quarter increased by 4.35% compared to the plan of 9.5 - 10.5%. Of which, agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 2.11%; industry - construction by 99% compared to the same period; services increased by 10.5%. Budget revenue of more than 917 billion VND was equal to 15.1% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and equal to 34.5% compared to the same period in 2011.

In the field of agricultural, forestry and fishery production, although there are still difficulties due to natural disasters and epidemics, with the strong direction of the province and relevant agencies, the area of ​​main spring crops has basically been closed according to plan. Diseases such as H5N1 and anthrax in livestock and poultry have been prevented. Progress in the construction of new rural areas, the whole province has over 349 communes with approved plans, reaching 80.23%. The industrial production index in the province in the first quarter of 2012 is estimated to increase by 2.55% compared to the same period last year.

The commercial service sector has a fairly good growth rate. Total retail sales of goods and social consumer service revenue are estimated at 3,343.7 billion VND. Export turnover of goods is estimated at 10.859 million USD. However, the budget revenue in the first 3 months of the year is lower than the estimated progress (equal to 15.1% of the estimate and 34.5% compared to the same period). The volume of basic construction investment under the state budget in the first 3 months of the year is about 668.7 billion VND. Investment promotion and business development are of interest.... In the fields of culture and society, there are many positive changes, state management and administrative reform are of interest and direction. National security and defense are ensured...

After listening to reports on the socio-economic situation, state budget estimates, administrative reform in the first quarter, tasks in April and the second quarter, members of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of sectors focused on discussing difficulties, obstacles and solutions to overcome limitations in the first quarter. These are economic growth, industry - construction, business development, and low budget revenue. In agriculture, the epidemic situation is complicated, posing many potential risks. Disbursement and management of capital in basic construction are still slow, solutions to remove difficulties for businesses, especially in the real estate business sector.

Along with the above contents, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: from now until the end of the year, the situation will continue to be difficult, requesting departments and branches to be proactive and creative in management and operation, promote service activities, do a good job of market management, compensation and site clearance for key projects, social security projects, focus on solving pressing issues among the people.

Also at the meeting, leaders of a number of departments, branches and sectors proposed that the Provincial People's Committee focus on directing the fight against tax losses, improving the effectiveness of management and operations of industrial park management boards, and the situation of people in resettlement areas of Ban Ve hydropower project returning to their old residences has not been resolved.

Also this morning, members of the Provincial People's Committee listened to and commented on the projects presented by the Department of Planning and Investment, including: Developing infrastructure in Nghe An province until 2020 and implementing a one-stop transaction center to process documents for investors.
