(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 30, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a friendly meeting with a delegation of former German experts who supported the reconstruction of Vinh city on the occasion of the delegation's visit to participate in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Vinh city.

Participating in the reception of the delegation of former German experts were comrade Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of Vinh city leaders, departments, branches and sectors in the province.

In his welcoming speech to the delegation of former experts, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien expressed his joy and emotion at welcoming the delegation back to Nghe An province on the occasion of Vinh city's 50th anniversary. From the German Government's idea of ​​helping to rebuild Vinh city, from 1973 to 1980, Germany sent 231 experts and 61 ships carrying goods and materials worth more than 20 million rubles to support the construction of Vinh city. In November 1973, Vinh city welcomed the first group of German experts. At that time, Vinh city was almost completely leveled, with only 3 intact houses remaining... In the next 7 years, Vinh city was completely redesigned and rebuilt. The intellectual and material assistance from Germany not only rebuilt the city but also had a great effect on the development of Vinh city at that time and later.
