(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 24, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting at the beginning of the year between central and local transport agencies and units located in the province.
Attending the conference were comrades: Le Quang Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Lam, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department; Le Ngoc Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. In 2014, Nghe An Transport sector made a breakthrough in key transport projects, leaving a comprehensive mark in many fields, making an important contribution to the overall development of the province. In particular, the most important mark that the Transport sector achieved in 2014 was the successful implementation of many projects, such as upgrading and expanding National Highway 1A through Nghe An province with a length of nearly 74km, 4-lane scale; completing and putting into use such as National Highway 46B overpass, Dung - Thanh Chuong bridge; upgrading and expanding National Highway 7 Dien Chau - Do Luong section along with some sections of National Highway 48, National Highway 46, National Highway 15 and many provincial roads, Tay Nghe An road. The mark of Nghe An's transport sector is also recognized by the upgrading of Vinh Airport with a total investment of 1,000 billion VND with component projects, meeting the needs of large aircraft, in accordance with the plan to upgrade Vinh Airport into an international airport. At the meeting, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Mr. Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the agencies and units of the transport sector. He affirmed that transport plays an important role and is the driving force for the socio-economic development of the province. He hoped that the central transport agencies and units located in the area would continue to pay more attention to the investment and management of transport infrastructure. At the same time, he assigned the task to the Nghe An transport sector that in 2015, in addition to developing infrastructure, it is necessary to focus on promoting the development of many types of transport such as: road, air, rail, and waterway. In addition, it is necessary to ensure smooth traffic, manage transport infrastructure well, and tighten the operation of oversized and overloaded vehicles. Particularly in the field of investment and construction, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Thanh Dien requested the transport sector to strengthen management, ensure progress, quality, and aesthetics of the project. Enhance the role and responsibility in road maintenance and repair on routes managed by the industry. Focus on accelerating progress and completing a number of key projects and works in time to welcome Party congresses at all levels, towards the 12th National Party Congress at the end of this year.
