UEFA does not lower Champions League final ticket prices

Even though president Michel Platini admitted that ticket prices for the Champions League final were too high, UEFA still insisted on not making any changes to ticket prices.

Recently, the European Football Federation (UEFA) also had to admit that to own a ticket to watch the Champions League final, a fan must spend a record amount of money.

According to the price list released by the Champions League Organizing Committee, the cheapest third-class ticket costs 176 pounds (284 USD/ticket), more than double the price of 80 pounds for the 2009 Champions League final between Man Utd and Barcelona.

Tickets to the Champions League final are becoming increasingly expensive for fans.

President Michel Platini also agreed that ticket prices should be lowered so that fans with average incomes can also enter the stadium to cheer for their favorite team.

Meanwhile, regarding this issue, the tournament's business director - Mr. Giorgio Marchetti explained that high ticket prices are natural, commensurate with an important event that attracts great attention from fans.

This view of UEFA continued to be clearly expressed yesterday (March 21) when General Secretary Gianni Infantino personally confirmed this information. "Currently, ticket prices cannot be changed because ticket sales have already begun."

Mr. Platini said that it is very likely that in the coming seasons, ticket prices will be adjusted to better suit all fans. "We are happy to receive feedback on this issue. UEFA will carefully review ticket prices from next season."

UEFA will now sell 11,000 tickets to neutral fans at prices of £300, £225 and £176 respectively, while each team participating in the final will receive 25,000 tickets.

UEFA is expecting that with the new adjustment in ticket prices, this year's Champions League final will bring in £14 million in ticket sales, £3 million more than last year's final.
