Ukraine is abandoning NATO tactics, fearing early negotiations with Russia?

Ria Novosti quoted journalist Paul Ronzheimer and the German newspaper Bild as saying that the Ukrainian government is afraid that they will soon have to negotiate with Russia.

“Kiev is afraid that at some point, its Western partners may say to it: ‘You are not making any progress, is there any point in continuing the war?’ And they will start pushing for an early end to the conflict, on any terms,” Paul explained.

According to the German journalist, if Russia continues to successfully repel all directions of Ukrainian attack, the diplomatic pressure on Kiev will increase. Kiev is well aware that Western countries will "turn their backs" if their army does not make a major breakthrough.

Citing an assessment by the German newspaper Die Welt, Ria Novosti said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are advancing at a very slow pace, and may soon stop completely without achieving anything.

Die Welt believes that in October, the West will consider a ceasefire agreement. Because they no longer believe in Kiev's successes. However, Die Welt also believes that the failure of Ukraine's counter-offensive is partly NATO's responsibility, because the alliance has provided few artillery shells, tanks and air defense systems. So far, NATO has not provided fighter jets, and has been slow to train soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The New York Times (USA) pointed out that the problems of the counterattack were related to Ukraine's abandonment of NATO tactics. Instead of attacking with mechanized groups, the Ukrainian army focused on artillery attacks.

As a result, the Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered heavy losses. The US is concerned that Kiev is using its scarce ammunition inefficiently.
