According to Russian websites, on August 7, the capital Kiev of Ukraine not only witnessed clashes at Independence Square, but also saw tanks appear on the streets.

A column of T-64BM tanks and ZSU-23-4 "Shilka" mobile air defense missile systems appeared on Victory Avenue. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry refused to explain where and why heavy tanks appeared in the capital of the country. The ministry only said: "Any movement of vehicles is related to the military situation in the country."

Television footage showed four engineering units, including amphibious assault vehicles, tanks and mobile air defense systems, in Kiev. According to Russian media, it is not excluded that these tanks were used to suppress the uprising on Independence Square.

Activists gathered in Independence Square in central Kiev clashed with the Kiev-1 Special Forces Brigade, injuring several of its soldiers. Activists threw stones and flammable bottles at the soldiers. A barricade in front of the Trade Unions Building caught fire.

Protesters also burned car tires in Europe Square. Clashes broke out on the morning of August 7 when public service workers removed the barricades./.
