According to RIA Novosti on February 6, based on data analysis from the US ForeignAssistance.gov portal, in the past 3 years, Ukraine has received 27.2% of the total amount of money from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The agency's work has previously drawn harsh criticism from new leadership in Washington.

According to published figures, Ukraine has become the largest recipient of USAID aid since 2022. At that time, USAID was allocated $9.95 billion out of a total budget of $41.5 billion.

In 2023, funding increases to $16.43 billion (38.8% of total spending) and in 2024 to $6.05 billion out of a total of $35.4 billion.

In 3 years, the US sent 32.4 billion USD to Ukraine, accounting for 27.2% of the total USAID funding ($119.3 billion).

The debate over the future of USAID is heating up in the US, with reports that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Effectiveness is focusing its efforts on dismantling the agency, which the billionaire calls “a criminal organization that must be destroyed and a hotbed of radical left-wing Marxists who hate America.”

According to CBS News, the White House intends to merge USAID with the State Department and cut staff. At the same time, the agency will continue to operate as the agency responsible for humanitarian aid, according to media reports.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly criticized the organization, accusing it of wasting American taxpayers' money on projects that do not serve Washington's interests.
