The Zenit missile is produced in Ukraine using 70% Russian components, of which the main equipment cluster is the RD-171M first stage engine and control system.
“The Yuzhnoye design bureau has developed the Mayak-3.9S rocket, which is completely superior to Zenit in terms of characteristics - it was designed based on the use of launches at Baikonur and Sea Launch,” - Mr. Degtyarev said on the company's YouTube channel.
In the period 1985 - 2017, a total of 84 Zenit rocket launches were carried out, of which 36 were launched from floating platforms under the Sea Launch program. Currently, the production of this type of rocket has ended.
