Ukraine mines along border with Belarus and Russia, holds urgent meeting to prevent information leaks
The Ukrainian military continues to reinforce its defenses along the borders with Belarus and Russia. The Ukrainian government has held an emergency meeting to discuss ways to prevent leaks of military information.
According to the Guardian, on April 8 (local time), Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev - commander of the Ukrainian coalition forces said that the country's army is trying to strengthen defense lines and positions along the border with Belarus and Russia.

"The combat situation in the north is relatively stable, so we are taking advantage of this time to strengthen the border defense line. The expansion of the technical fence system in the areas bordering Belarus and Russia is underway. Anti-tank minefields are being created in areas where tanks can approach," said Mr. Nayev.
Also according to Lieutenant General Nayev, in the past week, Ukrainian engineering units have set up dozens of positions with more than 6,000 anti-tank mines, and dug more than 7,000m of anti-tank fortifications and trenches.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and top security officials met on April 8 to discuss ways to prevent leaks of military information, Reuters reported. The meeting took place after classified US documents related to the Ukraine conflict were released.

"The meeting participants focused on measures to prevent leaks of information related to the plans of the Ukrainian armed forces," the Office of the President of Ukraine said.
Also related to this issue, Ukrainian Presidential Advisor Mykhailo Podolyak said that information leaks are a tactic to influence Kiev's spring counter-offensive.
"The purpose of the leak of classified documents is very clear, the opponent wants to divert attention and make us suspicious of each other. This is a common trick of secret services," said Mr. Podolyak.
