Ukraine disappointed that China did not join discussion on Kiev's 'peace formula'
(Baonghean.vn) - Chief of Staff of the President of Ukraine Andrei Yermak said that Kiev regrets that China did not participate in the discussion of the "peace formula" proposed and promoted by President Vladimir Zelensky.

According to Ria Novosti on January 15, Ukrainian Presidential Chief of Staff Andrei Yermak wants President Volodymyr Zelensky's "peace formula" to be discussed as widely as possible in many countries. Therefore, Kiev has invited Beijing to join the discussion.
"Unfortunately, last time in Malta and this time in Davos (Switzerland), the discussion on the 'peace formula' did not include a representative of China. We have invited and will continue to invite. For us, the presence of China at the negotiating table is important. We hope that in the future China will participate because it is a country with important influence," said Chief of Staff Andrei Yermak at a press conference in Davos. The press conference was broadcast live on the World Economic Forum's website.
On January 14, a discussion on the “Ukrainian peace formula” took place in Davos (Switzerland). Earlier, Mr. Yermak complained that at the forum there were calls for immediate negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. This is unacceptable for Kiev.
Also at this Davos press conference, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov refused to talk about the plans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for 2024. He said that only Ukraine and its partners know what the plans for 2024 are.
The “peace formula” developed and promoted by Kiev calls for the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, the provision of Euro-Atlantic security guarantees, and the establishment of a special court to investigate “war crimes” committed by Russia. This “peace formula” of President Zelensky is considered by Russia to be completely out of touch with reality.
On the Russian side, President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly pointed out that if Kiev wants to conduct negotiations, what is needed is not "stage gestures", but the abolition of the decree banning negotiations. At the same time, Mr. Putin stressed that a settlement can only be achieved if Russia's security guarantees are observed.
The Kremlin has also repeatedly emphasized that their absolute priority remains achieving the goals of the special campaign./.
