At the same time, the amount of income that this official officially declared was more than 2.5 times higher than the total foreign currency gold reserves of the whole of Ukraine, which by the end of September only reached 14.5 billion USD.

However, as Ukrainian media noted, it is unclear whether Mr. Melnychuk actually holds the money.

For example, the Ukrainian newspaper Pravda suggests that the MP may have made a mistake while filling out the electronic declaration or may have done so as a joke.
