The commander of the Strategic Operations Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb) of Venezuela, Remigio Ceballos, said that the unit detected at least 54 unauthorized flights of US spy planes into the South American country's airspace in September alone.

In a message posted on Ceofanb's social media account, Mr. Ceballos announced that the type of spy plane commonly used in these violations is the EP-3, which carries out radio-electronic reconnaissance missions in the Atlantic Ocean under Venezuela's sovereignty.

These spy planes were detected by radars of the Venezuelan General Air Defense Command (Codai) within the framework of the exercises called Venezuela Sovereignty and Peace, which took place from September 10 to 28.
