Application of nano additives to save fuel

“Not only saving fuel, nano fuel additives also help reduce emissions that pollute the environment from diesel-powered vehicles,” said Ly Tan Hue, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem), at the Technical Conference on Application of Nano Fuel-Saving Additives held on December 27 in Hanoi.

According to Mr. Hue, the application of nanotechnology to synthesize additives for the petroleum processing industry has been of great interest to developed countries such as the US, Japan, and China. Since 2007, the application of nano fuel additives has been tested at Vicem for bulldozers, excavators, and trucks, bringing about clear results, saving an average of 5.5% of fuel compared to when not using nano fuel additives.

Nano additives are the application of nano-scale micro-emulsification technology in gasoline and diesel, suitable for creating a new generation of fuel additives with many functions. This additive, through the nano-scale micro-explosive effect, makes the fuel oil mist and mixes it with the air, making the combustion process of the fuel oil more thorough. This product can be widely applied to gasoline and diesel oil in industry and commerce. Just adding a very small amount will significantly enhance the engine's power while significantly reducing fuel consumption and reducing toxic emissions after the exhaust pipe.

At the Conference, representatives of many companies under Vicem affirmed that nano additives help the equipment operate stably, explode more easily, reduce noise; no unusual phenomena occurred during vehicle operation and after maintenance; easy to preserve and mix when used.../.
