Units in the sector have carried out many provincial-level scientific research projects, coordinated research on ministerial-level and state-level projects. Each year, dozens of sector-level scientific research projects and 3-5 provincial-level projects are deployed and accepted. Some projects have received the Nghe An Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2013, such as: The project "Treatment of cerebral vascular disease by endovascular intervention by doctors Duong Dinh Chinh and Nguyen Tat Thang" (Nghe An General Hospital); The project "Treatment of gastric cancer by endoscopic surgery with lymph node dissection" by Dr. Nguyen Van Huong (Nghe An General Hospital) and the project "Application of information technology in medical examination, treatment and teaching" by Dr. Cao Truong Sinh, Nguyen Thi Mai Tho (Nghe An University of Medicine and Pharmacy).
With encouraging achievements in research and application of scientific and technological advances, the provincial health sector is increasingly improving the quality and effectiveness of health care and protection for the people. According to Mr. Hoang Van Hao - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health, in order to continue promoting and improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, in the coming time, the provincial health sector will focus on developing 3 main solutions: First, the human resource issue. In addition, the sector also focuses on additional training for medical staff to improve their qualifications, meet the increasing requirements in medical examination and treatment, as well as use modern medical equipment. Second, the issue of technical equipment. Currently, technical equipment of the health sector has great support for diagnosis and treatment. Currently, the health sector has allocated a certain amount of funds to purchase new technical equipment to keep up with current scientific advances. Third, the health sector has paid special attention to launching a scientific research movement throughout the sector, with special attention to the research and transfer of scientific and technological advances. Currently, research and application of scientific and technological advances have been actively and effectively carried out by hospitals and medical centers.
