Application of nuclear medicine and radiotherapy in cancer treatment

This is a project of the Central Region Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Center worth 12 million USD from ODA capital of Korea.

After 3 months of operation, the Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Center of the Central Region - Da Nang Hospital has screened and controlled after treatment for 185 people in Da Nang city and the Central region.

This is the initial result of the Central Region Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy Center Project approved by the Government in 2007 with a total investment of 12 million USD from ODA capital from Korea.

The center is equipped with a modern, synchronous system of equipment that allows for early detection and diagnosis of cancer, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, bone and joint disease, etc., monitoring the progression and supporting effective treatment of many cancer diseases.

This center comes into operation to help patients in the Central region avoid having to go to centers in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, saving travel time and reducing treatment costs.

Dr. Tran Ngoc Thanh, Director of Da Nang Hospital, said: Da Nang Hospital continues to improve the quality of diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of many difficult diseases, helping people enjoy high-tech medical services. The project has initially been very effective in assessing, screening and monitoring the treatment process in the Central region. In particular, the poor enjoy high technology in monitoring, screening and diagnosing cancer at the cheapest price currently. District and county medical centers and hospitals in the area have sent patients. Hopefully, patients who have purchased health insurance will be covered in the near future"./.
