Sleep helps the body eliminate toxins, reduce stress, repair injuries, and build immunity. However, working all night can cause the body to go against its natural rhythm, causing a host of health problems.
According to US researchers, night shift work is associated with the risk of chronic kidney disease. The study found that lifestyle habits that are out of sync with the body's biological clock lead to the above risk.
Scientists took blood samples from day and night shift workers and analyzed them for metabolites. Metabolic disruptions have been found in night shift workers, putting them at risk for diseases such as diabetes, obesity and cancer.
Several previous studies have revealed that night shift workers are at increased risk of type 2 diabetes and skin cancer. Women who work night shifts are at higher risk of breast cancer than those who work day shifts. The WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer has revealed that working night shifts can lead to cancer.
Night shifts are linked to breast cancer and other cancers, in addition to diabetes and sleep disorders. Additionally, working the night shift deprives you of vitamin D, which helps with calcium absorption and bone growth. In addition to causing osteomalacia, vitamin D deficiency can also cause colon, breast, and prostate cancer.

An overloaded brain, without rest, easily falls into a state of stress, an uncomfortable spirit makes you often behave without restraint, and anger and hallucinations are completely possible. |
In addition, staying up late regularly and working through the night also causes the following consequences for the body:
Dull, aging skin
This is considered to be the visible effect when you often sleep late. The skin is always pale, lifeless, prone to acne, dark circles under the eyes, countless wrinkles appear... Especially with hot and humid climate conditions like in Vietnam, the skin "breakout" of acne is even more likely to happen.
Memory loss
Research from the University of California, Los Angeles has shown that the rate of memory loss in people who have the habit of staying up late and sleeping late is 5 times higher than in normal people.
This is the number 1 "enemy" that causes forgetfulness, misremembering, loss of concentration, and not being clear-headed enough to handle work.
Along with that, when you sleep late, the sympathetic nervous system in the body is still forced to maintain a state of excitement, causing the next day, they will fall into a state of energy exhaustion due to overwork the day before.
Cardiovascular disease, stroke
Professor Francesco Cappuccio of Warwick University concluded that lack of sleep can easily cause stroke and cardiovascular disease after conducting his research.
According to him, staying up too late, sleeping less than 6 hours a night and having disturbed sleep increases your risk of heart disease by 48% and your risk of dying from a stroke by 15%.
Unstable mentality, irritable
One of the harmful effects of staying up late is that it affects your psychology, making you easily irritable, paranoid, and hallucinating. The reason for this lies in the brain. The brain is overloaded, not getting enough rest, easily falling into a state of stress, an uncomfortable spirit that makes you sometimes act without restraint, and anger and hallucinations are completely possible.
