This is the conclusion of a Canadian research group published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition that tested the effects of this simple drink on thousands of women over the past decade.

Scientists at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nasvill city, conducted an experiment with more than 69,000 middle-aged and older women in China, the results showed that people who drink green tea at least 3 times/week can reduce the risk of digestive, colon or throat cancer by 14%.

During 11 years of follow-up of the women, there were more than 1,255 cases of stomach cancer.

Scientists say that in general, the risk of disease tends to decrease in women who drink tea regularly and for a long time.

Accordingly, people who have a habit of drinking tea for at least 20 years can reduce the risk of stomach cancer by 27% and esophageal cancer by 29% compared to those who do not drink tea.

Green tea contains many antioxidants, especially the compound EGCG, which has the effect of preventing the destruction of cells in the body that can lead to cancer and other dangerous diseases.

Although there are no definitive clinical studies on the anti-cancer effects of green tea, researchers have confirmed clear results in laboratory studies on this effect.

Scientists also note that this useful drink can only be effective for people who have a reasonable diet, exercise regularly and do not regularly use stimulants such as tobacco or alcohol./.
