Nghe An Province Catholic Solidarity Committee deploys 2012 tasks

(Baonghean) – This morning, January 9, the Catholic Solidarity Committee of Nghe An province held a Conference to summarize the patriotic emulation movement and activities in 2011; and deploy the work program for 2012.

In 2011, Catholics across the province actively responded to the patriotic emulation movement in all fields of economy; culture, society; security, social order and safety. In the economic field, in parishes and hamlets, Catholics actively developed the economy, helped each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, get rich legitimately, and participated in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Economic models of Catholics developed strongly and diversified in localities (Quynh Luu district had 214 models, Nam Dan district had 200 models, Tan Ky district had 89 models...) for high income, contributing to increasing the rate of well-off and rich households, and rapidly reducing the rate of poor households.

Overview of the conference

In the field of building cultural life, the movement: "All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas, live a good life and follow the religion" and the Resolution of the 5th Congress of Nghe An Catholics to build and protect the Fatherland continued to be developed in both breadth and depth. Security, order and social safety among Catholics were generally stable. In the election of deputies to the 13th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2011-2016 term, the rate of Catholic voters going to the polls was high, in Nghi Loc district the voter turnout rate reached 98%.

Promoting the achieved results, in 2012, the Provincial, District, City and Town Catholic Committees continued to widely propagate among Catholics about "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh"; 10 contents of the campaign: "All people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas, live a good life and good religion" associated with the major campaigns set forth by the Party and State.../.
