German Defense Committee says officer's conversation leak is due to Russian 'campaign'

According to Ria Novosti, the Bundestag Defense Committee believes that all signs in the leak scandal are Russian hacking and eavesdropping activities.
The committee stressed that it expected the German government to conduct a decisive and proactive investigation, including identifying the types of eavesdropping. According to the Bundestag Defense Committee, “Russia’s information war against Europe, NATO and Germany” will become more extensive and dangerous.
"The committee agrees with the Federal Minister of Defence that Germany must become stable, resilient and significantly defence-capable in the future," the Defence Committee statement said.
The leak of the senior German officers' conversations comes at a time when there is growing focus on Chancellor Olaf Scholz's continued refusal to supply Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
There are signs of division within Germany following the leak. German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, from the Green party, reiterated her support in principle for supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, defense expert Roderich Kiesewetter of the opposition Christian Democrats said Russia had leaked the meeting at this time specifically to “undermine the delivery of German Taurus missiles” to Ukraine. He said the leak was done “to divert public discussion” from other issues.
