Accordingly, this morning, the National Assembly will have reports on crime prevention and control and law violations in 2022; 2022 work report of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy; 2022 work report of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; 2022 report on judgment enforcement work; 2022 report on corruption prevention and control work. According to reports and examinations by the National Assembly's Judiciary Committee, in 2022, the Government, ministries, branches and localities have proposed many drastic solutions to ensure socio-economic development and effective fight against crime and law violations. Overall, law violations and social order crimes decreased by 6.69%.

The number of detected corruption crimes and positions increased by 40.97%, showing that the work of detecting and handling corruption is increasingly drastic and more effective, contributing significantly to prevention work.

Regarding the detection and handling of corruption and the recovery of corrupt assets, the Government Inspector General Doan Hong Phong said: The investigation agencies have accepted 687 cases, 1,439 defendants; have concluded investigations and proposed prosecution of 336 cases/765 defendants. The People's Procuracy at all levels has accepted and resolved 506 cases/1,332 defendants; has resolved 426 cases/1,084 defendants.

People's Courts at all levels handled 577 cases/1,399 defendants at first instance; resolved 533 cases/1,272 defendants; of which, 410 cases/945 defendants were tried. The execution of judgments has completed 1,895 cases (an increase of 290% compared to 2021).

Through the review, the Judiciary Committee assessed: In 2022, with the participation of the entire political system, the work of preventing and combating corruption will continue to be promoted and make strong progress, making breakthroughs with higher political determination, strong actions, "no forbidden zones, no exceptions"; corruption will continue to be contained and tend to decrease.

The results of anti-corruption work have created positive effects, spreading strongly throughout society, receiving the sympathy and support of cadres, party members and people, and being recognized by international friends.

The work of building and perfecting institutions on socio-economic management and corruption prevention and control continues to be promoted, gradually synchronously linking corruption prevention and control with negativity prevention and control.

The work of detecting and handling corruption has been focused on, directed resolutely and has made strong breakthroughs; combining disciplinary and administrative actions of the Party and State with criminal actions; Party committees and Inspection Committees at all levels have focused on inspecting, detecting, clarifying many violations and enforcing discipline on many Party members who violated the law on preventing and combating corruption and negativity.

The organization of specialized anti-corruption units continues to be improved, promoting their core role in detecting and handling corruption cases.

The authorities have clarified and initiated new prosecutions of many cases, and at the same time, resolutely and strictly handled and publicly punished violators, including many high-ranking officials under the management of the Party Central Committee.

Many serious, long-term acts of corruption and previously rarely detected acts of corruption such as accepting bribes, giving bribes... have been discovered, prosecuted, investigated, prosecuted, and tried promptly...

However, according to the National Assembly's Judiciary Committee, the work of building and perfecting institutions to prevent and combat corruption still has limitations; some regulations are not yet synchronous and unified; mechanisms and policies on socio-economic management in some areas are still not strict, failing to meet management requirements.

Some regulations are still loopholes, overlapping, easily exploited, and prone to corruption, but are slow to be amended and supplemented, especially in the following areas: management and use of land, resources, and minerals; bidding; investment, procurement, management, and use of public assets; management of State-owned enterprises and State capital in enterprises...

Next, the National Assembly discussed in the hall the work reports of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy; crime prevention and control work and law violations; execution work; and corruption prevention and control work in 2022.

This afternoon, the National Assembly will continue to discuss these contents. The Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, the Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Minister of Public Security, the Minister of Justice, and the Government Inspector General will speak to explain and clarify a number of issues raised by National Assembly deputies.
