V-League changes schedule because of Park Hang-seo and his team
Round 23 will be postponed to give the Vietnamese team more time to prepare for the match against Thailand in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
According to the old schedule, round 23 will take place on August 30, August 31 and September 1. Meanwhile, on September 5, Vietnam will visit Thailand in the opening match of the second qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup in Asia. If following this schedule, coach Park Hang-seo and the players will only have three days to gather and then compete. Therefore, yesterday, July 24, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) discussed with the tournament organizers and agreed to postpone round 23 to September 15.
"VFF wants to create the best conditions for the national team to prepare for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Adjusting the V-League 2019 schedule is to help the team prepare best," said VFF Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan.

With the adjusted match schedule, after round 22 of V-League ends on August 25, the Vietnam team will gather on August 26. The team will have 10 days to prepare for the away match in Thailand.
In the second round of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia, the Vietnamese team is in Group G with the UAE, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.
In the first match, Thailand could not host Vietnam at Rajamangala National Stadium. This football field in Bangkok is being renovated to prepare for the AFC U23 Championship in January 2020.
The Football Association of Thailand is looking for an alternative, possibly choosing the Thammasat University Campus. This stadium meets the standards and has a large capacity. This is also the venue for the AFC U23 Championship matches.
