V.League 'frozen', SLNA players still have guaranteed salary

Teams such as Than Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Nam, etc. are in the stage of disbanding their camps and stopping centralized training. However, the coaching staff of these clubs have asked the players to try to practice and maintain themselves while staying at home to avoid gaining weight and maintain their own health during the current epidemic season.

Accordingly, with limited financial resources, Nam Dinh Club is the first team to reduce 25% of April salaries to reduce the financial burden when the tournament is not played. The next team is Ho Chi Minh City Club, which has reduced 30% of salaries in April, and will continue to reduce 40% of salaries in May, and 50% of salaries in June if V.League 2020 cannot return.

Thanh Hoa Club, which is backed by Mr. Nguyen Van De, has implemented salary reductions since March. The Thanh team has reduced salaries by 30% in March, 40% in April and will reduce salaries by 50% in May if V.League 2020 continues to be frozen.

As for SLNA, the team also does not have abundant financial resources. However, according to the confirmation of the sponsor Bac A Bank, the current salaries of the players remain the same. In the context of banks giving employees rotating leave, many businesses facing difficulties, this can be considered a great favor and encouragement.

Thus, up to this point, only 3/14 teams have implemented salary reductions and players have voluntarily reduced their salaries. Of which, Ho Chi Minh City Club and Thanh Hoa Club have quite high salary funds for players, while Nam Dinh Club has relatively limited funds.

The reason why SLNA players are still guaranteed to keep their salaries during the Covid-19 pandemic is due to many reasons. Firstly, the salary of Nghe An players is at the average level of V.League, not too high like other "big" teams such as Viettel, B. Binh Duong, Hanoi...

Specifically, the minimum salary of SLNA first team players is 10-12 million VND, players who are in the starting line-up or "veterans" such as Van Khanh, Van Hoang, Dinh Dong, Quang Tinh receive a salary of 25-30 million VND or higher for the captain. If playing, the main income of SLNA players can come from the fairly high bonus in V.League.

In addition, most players' contracts last until the end of December. Therefore, if V.League 2020 still finishes by the end of the year, the contracts with foreign players (signed for only 1 year) will not have to change.

Since the end of 2009 until now, nearly 10 years have passed, and Bac A Bank is still the sole sponsoring unit for the Nghe An football team.
