Exposing the plot of reactionary forces against Vietnam

During and after the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2016-2021 term in Vietnam, the Security newspaper of the Lao Ministry of Security published a series of articles on the plots, methods and tricks of hostile forces and reactionary forces at home and abroad, taking advantage of freedom, democracy, human rights as well as current events taking place in the country to propagate and distort the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly of Vietnam in particular and to sabotage the Vietnamese revolution in general, thereby educating the awareness of revolutionary enlightenment and vigilance of the Lao people and security forces in the fight against the plot of "peaceful evolution of hostile forces".

According to the above newspaper, to carry out their plans, the reactionary forces have proactively, even very boldly, openly attracted political opportunists, disaffected elements with anti-revolutionary ideology living in the country and exiled abroad to combine and disseminate documents, propaganda information, and distort all guidelines, viewpoints, and policies on socio-economic development in Vietnam.

These elements use social networks to promote the "free candidacy" movement. When independent candidates do not meet the necessary factors and criteria to run for National Assembly deputies, these elements call for a "boycott of the election."

These elements consider the time before the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels of Vietnam as an opportunity for these elements to create skepticism and lack of trust in the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam among the people.

Notably, the reactionary organization “Viet Tan” and other reactionary organizations have sent forces from Vietnam to Thailand and Malaysia to train in methods of overthrowing in the style of “color revolution” and “non-violent struggle.” One of the tricks of these elements is to try to distort the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam so that many people misunderstand.

Right in Ho Chi Minh City, these elements opened 4 training courses for dozens of intellectuals and students, forming “Viet Tan” cell groups to attract petitioners and develop forces in large industrial zones. The reactionary forces also organized many large-scale signature collection campaigns for petitions to the US government.

Since the 12th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the police have collected much evidence of the plot of Viet Tan and reactionary organizations to take advantage of the “anti-China” protests to rehearse a “color revolution” in Vietnam. In fact, the sabotage plot of the counter-revolutionary forces before the election is to gradually realize the strategic goal of “Peaceful Evolution” that these elements have long identified.

The newspaper concluded: "Practice shows that the sabotage activities of hostile forces against the Vietnamese revolution are taking place more and more fiercely in terms of intensity, nature, content as well as methods and tricks. We also need to clearly recognize that denying and distorting the Vietnamese Socialist regime to transform it is the unchanging goal of imperialism and counter-revolutionary forces that they have demonstrated for decades. Therefore, it is necessary to heighten vigilance and resolutely fight to defeat all plots and intentions of hostile forces"./.
