A shipment of more than 1 ton of fresh lychees from Bac Giang province has just been exported by air to the US and is sold in many supermarkets and markets at a price of more than 750,000 VND/kg.

Information from the Vietnam Trade Office branch in Houston (USA) said that on June 20, LNS International Corporation (importer) and L&V Food Supply Company (distributor) based in Houston, Texas (USA) coordinated to bring a shipment of fresh lychees from Bac Giang province by air to Houston city.

Fresh Vietnamese lychees are being sold simultaneously at many of the largest supermarkets and Asian markets in Houston, Texas such as Hong Kong, Tan Binh, Viet Hoa, Linda's Tropical Fruits,... The retail price at different supermarkets ranges from 13-15 USD/pound (453.6 grams), equivalent to more than 630,000-750,000 VND/kg.

LNS Company representative said that they will continue to coordinate with import, distribution, transportation partners... to bring Vietnamese agricultural products to many US states this month to encourage American consumers and enhance the reputation of Vietnamese businesses worldwide.

Previously, since July 2022, Vietnamese lychees have initially successfully penetrated large supermarket systems in the US market. These lychees are transported by sea from Bac Giang and Hai Duong provinces and distributed by Dragonberry Produce Company.

Lychee is sold at Safeway and Albersons supermarkets in Washington, Oregon and California states at a price of 4.99 USD/430 gram bag (equivalent to more than 250,000 VND/kg).

According to the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Giang province, in 2023, the total area of ​​lychee in the province will be 29,700 hectares, an increase of 1,400 hectares compared to 2022. The output is estimated at more than 180,000 tons, of which domestic consumption is about 81,000 tons (accounting for 45%), the rest is for export.

The main export markets of Bac Giang lychee include China, EU, USA, Australia, Japan, Korea, some Southeast Asian countries and some countries in the Middle East...

In mid-June, Ho Guom - Song Am High-Tech Agriculture Company Limited (Ho Guom Group) also exported more than 1 ton of seedless lychees to the Japanese and UK markets. In the Japanese market, seedless lychees are being sold at 4,500-5,000 yen/kg (equivalent to 750,000-840,000 VND/kg).

Pig pricerecorded the highest level of 63,000 VND/kg

Pig prices today, June 25, continued to move sideways across the board and recorded a peak of 63,000 VND/kg. This is also the highest level in nearly a year.

In the Northern region, the price of live pigs today remained stable across the board and fluctuated between 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg. The highest price in the region of 63,000 VND/kg was recorded in Bac Giang, Hung Yen, Phu Tho and Thai Binh.

On the other hand, the lowest price in the region of 60,000 VND/kg was recorded in the provinces of Nam Dinh, Ha Nam and Ninh Binh. The remaining localities in the region recorded live pig prices in the range of 61,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.

In the Central Highlands region, the price of live pigs today has no new fluctuations compared to yesterday and fluctuates between 58,000 - 62,000 VND/kg. In which, the highest price in the region of 62,000 VND/kg was recorded in Thanh Hoa.

On the other hand, the lowest price of live pigs in the region is 58,000 VND/kg, which continues to be recorded in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa and Dak Lak. The remaining localities in the region recorded stable live pig prices today in the range of 59,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.

Following the general market trend, in the Southern region, the price of live pigs today is quiet and fluctuates between 58,000 - 60,000 VND/kg. Accordingly, live pigs in Can Tho, Dong Thap, Bac Lieu and Tien Giang are still recorded at a common level of 58,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the region.

The highest price in the region of 60,000 VND/kg was recorded in a series of localities including Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Vung Tau, Long An, Soc Trang. The remaining localities in the region recorded the price of live pigs at 59,000 VND/kg.

In general, over the past week, the price of live pigs has fluctuated in a slight upward trend across the board. Currently, the average price of live pigs in all regions has reached and exceeded 60,000 VND/kg. Notably, in some localities, the price of live pigs has reached 63,000 VND/kg, an increase of 21% compared to the beginning of the year. This is also the highest level in nearly a year.

The average price of live pigs in the North on June 25 was VND62,530/kg; in the Central Highlands region it was VND59,420/kg and in the South it was VND60,000/kg.

Pepper price today June 25 and summary of last week: Decreased by 1,000-1,500 VND/kg

Pepper prices today, June 25, in the domestic market stagnated and moved sideways. Over the past week, domestic pepper prices have continuously adjusted downward.

Accordingly, in the Central Highlands region, pepper prices fluctuate around 69,000 - 70,000 VND/kg. Specifically, in Gia Lai, the price of Chu Se pepper (Gia Lai) on June 25 is being purchased by traders at 69,000 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces, pepper prices remain around 70,000 VND/kg.

Similarly, in the Southeast region, pepper prices today are also unchanged compared to yesterday. Accordingly, pepper prices today in Binh Phuoc are being purchased by traders at 71,000 VND/kg, in Dong Nai and Ba Ria Vung Tau, pepper prices remain stable at 70,500 VND/kg and 72,000 VND/kg.

Thus, pepper prices today have leveled off and moved sideways after many sessions of downward adjustments. The domestic pepper market has just experienced a week of strong fluctuations with continuous downward adjustments. Compared to the beginning of the week, domestic pepper prices have decreased by 1,000 - 1,500 VND/kg. Currently, pepper prices in Gia Lai have lost the 70,000 VND/kg mark.

According to preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA), from June 1 to June 18, Vietnam exported 11,305 tons of pepper with a total turnover of 41.1 million USD. Of which, the export volume of black pepper reached 9,778 tons and white pepper reached 1,527 tons. China continued to be Vietnam's main pepper export market in the first half of June with 2,657 tons.

Domestic coffee prices down 1,200 VND

Coffee prices today, June 25, in the domestic market decreased by 1,200 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently fluctuating from 64,600 - 65,300 VND/kg, still maintaining a high price.

Specifically, the price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at a price of 64,500 - 64,600 VND/kg.

Today's coffee price in Dak Lak province in Cu M'gar district is currently at 65,000 VND/kg. In Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, the price is also 65,100 VND/kg.

Regarding world coffee prices, coffee prices on the two exchanges continued to decline under pressure from the first delivery notice day (FND) of the July term.

At the end of the latest trading session, Robusta coffee prices on the London floor continued to decline. The July spot futures fell by $54 to $2,738/ton and the September futures fell by $73 to $2,676/ton, both very sharp declines. Trading volume remained quite high above average.

Similarly, Arabica coffee prices on the ICE US – New York exchange fell for the sixth consecutive session. The September spot contract fell another 5.40 cents to 164.85 cents/lb and the December contract fell another 5.20 cents to 183.85 cents/lb, both sharp declines. Trading volume remained very high above average.

According to experts, the market continues to anchor on fundamental information about concerns about supply shortages in leading producing countries.
