Transporting more than 11,000 drug pills for hire to get money for the wedding

A middle-aged man planned to earn money to get married by selling and transporting 11,400 synthetic drug pills from Hoa Binh to Hanoi.

Police in Chuong My district (Hanoi) are detaining Mai Duc Tinh (53 years old, residing in Hoa Binh) and Giang A Di (28 years old, residing in Son La) to investigate allegations of illegal drug trafficking and transportation.

According to investigation documents, on the morning of January 10, Mai Duc Tinh and his brother Mai Duc Thanh (60 years old) took a bus from Hoa Binh to a motel in Chuong My district. There, Tinh received nearly 700 million VND and asked his brother to take the guest home in Hoa Binh to meet Giang A Di to get drugs.

When returning to Hanoi, in Chuong My district, these two people were arrested by the police with evidence of 57 plastic bags containing 11,400 synthetic drug pills.

However, Mr. Thanh said he was only transporting the goods for his younger brother and did not know they were drugs.

Soon after, Tinh and Di were arrested in Hoa Binh. Tinh said he needed money to prepare for his second marriage, so he contacted Di to carry out this big deal.
