Even though it was night, thousands of people were still waiting and watching the rescue work at the scene. The rescue team discovered a man's body (identified as Nguyen Sy Trong), but could not remove it because a large rock was crushing half of his body.

At nearly 8:00 p.m. on April 1, two excavators worked together to lift the rock that was pressing on Mr. Trong's body. Only then were the rescue team able to remove Mr. Trong's body. Mr. Trong's four children fainted when they saw their father's crushed and deformed body.

At this time, there are still 2 victims, 2 brothers: Nguyen Tho Hoang and Nguyen Tho Vu, whose bodies have not been found, because their locations have not been determined. Although the victims' families called Hoang's phone, the phone still rang, but the location could not be determined.

The most painful was Dang Luu hamlet, where 7 people died, all women. Of these, only one woman, Nguyen Thi Thu, had not yet been buried, because her husband was working far away and had not returned in time. 6 funerals went together, stretching for kilometers. Grief after grief was compressed on every face of the people of Nam Thanh.

As of 7:30 a.m. on April 2, the two unfortunate victims had not yet been found. Authorities continued their search and rescue efforts to soon remove the victims from the giant rocks.
