(Baonghean.vn) -On the morning of October 21, the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council supervised the implementation of Resolution 319 of the Provincial People's Council on a number of policies and mechanisms to support poverty reduction in Chau Nga commune, Quy Chau district.

Chau Nga is a mountainous commune of Quy Chau district with 8 villages; there are 488 households, of which the poverty rate accounts for 55.3%. In addition to the high poverty rate, there are also many near-poor households and households at risk of becoming poor or near-poor. This is a commune that benefits from the policy mechanism under Resolution 319 of the Provincial People's Council (for communes with a poverty rate of 30% or more, in addition to Resolution 30a) and in fact, through monitoring, the working group has recorded that the policy has been put into practice.

After 3 years of implementation, 11 households have benefited from the land reclamation support policy with a total area of ​​16.35 hectares and a total support amount of 179.85 million VND; 4 young intellectuals have benefited from the attraction policy with an amount of more than 90 million VND.

However, the number of households benefiting from the Resolution is still too small compared to the total number of poor households in the commune, only 11/488 households. The commune has not yet determined which land is reclaimed and which is restored land, so the implementation of the policy is still confusing. The commune has not yet grasped the specific area of ​​land that can be reclaimed and restored in the area and the people's need for reclamation and restoration. Although there are people in the commune participating in labor export, those who go to work abroad have not yet benefited from the support policy mechanism according to Resolution 319 of the Provincial People's Council. Directly meeting with a number of people who have benefited from the policy, the delegation noted that although people have benefited from the policy, they do not know specifically how much support they are getting, what it includes, and the time frame for benefiting. Concluding the monitoring session, comrade Nguyen Xuan Son requested the commune to survey and grasp the area that can be reclaimed and restored in the locality, on that basis, to propagate and mobilize people to reclaim and restore land to develop household economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.
