Operation and regulation of Chau Thang, Ban Coc and Hua Na hydroelectric reservoirs

(Baonghean.vn) - In the face of continuous heavy rain in recent days, on September 25, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received a notice from hydropower units about the operation of releasing floodwater from hydropower reservoirs.

To ensure the safe operation and regulation of water in hydroelectric reservoirs in accordance with the approved Single Reservoir Procedure and Inter-reservoir Procedure in the river basin, the reservoirs will be operated and regulated as follows:

1- PRIME Que Phong Joint Stock CompanyChau Thang hydropower reservoir is expected to operate and regulate from 12:00 on September 25.

Expected discharge:from 76 m3/s - 400 m3/s (including discharge flow through the valve gate and power generation flow through the generators) and may vary depending on the water flow to the lake.

Discharge end time:Until the effects of the heavy rains subside.

2- Hua Na Hydropower Joint Stock CompanyPlanned operation of water discharge to regulate Hua Na Hydropower Reservoir is as follows:

Estimated time of regulatory operation:Starting from 17:00 on September 25.

Expected discharge:261 m3/s (including discharge through spillway, factory, environmental valve). Discharge downstream will be adjusted depending on water flow to Hua Na lake.

Discharge end time:Until the lake regulation operation process is completed.

3- Que Phong Hydropower Joint Stock CompanyPlanned water discharge from Ban Coc hydroelectric reservoir is as follows:

Estimated discharge time:12:30 September 25.

Discharge flow:Total discharge from 11m3/s - 120m3/s (Including flow through valve discharge gate, flow through spillway and power generation flow through generators).

Discharge end time:Until the flood is over.

The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs: People's Committees of Que Phong and Quy Chau districts; Heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors to inform authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors who are constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the downstream areas of Chau Thang, Ban Coc and Hua Na hydropower plants to know and deploy necessary work.

At the same time, there are appropriate response measures for each situation to limit the damage caused by the opening and closing of spillway gates, to ensure the safety of life and property of the State and people.
