Van Persie shines to bring the Community Shield to MU
Dutch striker Robin van Persie played the hero again when he scored twice to help Manchester United beat Wigan 2-0, thereby winning the Community Shield.
A smooth start to the new season for coach David Moyes and his team. This is also the 20th English Super Cup in the history of the Old Trafford team.

It took Robin van Persie just six minutes to put Manchester United ahead with a comfortable header in the sixth minute of the match. Shortly after the break, the Dutch star himself extinguished Wigan's resistance with a somewhat fortunate goal, when the ball deflected off a Wigan defender and changed direction, leaving goalkeeper Carson helpless.
With 2 goals to help the Red Devils have a dream start to the new season, the Dutch striker was also voted the best player of the match.
As for coach David Moyes, this is the first time he has had the honor of winning a title in his coaching career in England.
Robin van Persie brought the Community Shield home to the Red Devils.
Moyes was humbled by the honour, saying that Sir Alex Ferguson was the most deserving. "It's true that I've won a trophy but it belongs to Fergie," Moyes said.
"The squad that plays today is entirely built and developed by him. I am simply a guide and doer of his work. Truly, I owe Sir Alex so much and will always be grateful to him for entrusting me with the position of head coach of Manchester United."
