Gold continues to decrease, each tael "evaporates" 300 thousand VND
Gold price today (January 18), domestic gold price continued to decrease by 300,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions, world gold price continued to decrease deeply.
At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on January 18, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:
DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 73.65 million VND/tael for buying and 76.15 million VND/tael for selling.

At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 74.20 - 75.20 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 73.70 - 76.00 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 73.65 - 76.42 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
The world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 2,005.260 USD/ounce, down 23.35 USD/ounce compared to yesterday's gold price. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 58.617 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 15.083 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Japanese Yen exchange rate plummets
Japanese Yen exchange rates surveyed on the morning of January 18 at specific banks are as follows:
At Vietcombank, the buying rate is 161.04 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 170.45 VND/JPY, down 1.49 VND for buying and 1.58 VND for selling. At Vietinbank, the buying and selling rates decreased by 1.33 VND, equivalent to 161.86 VND/JPY and 171.56 VND/JPY. At BIDV, the buying rate decreased by 1.54 VND and the selling rate decreased by 1.59 VND, reaching 162.08 VND/JPY and 170.60 VND/JPY, respectively. At Agribank, the buying and selling rates were 163.71 VND/JPY and 168.81 VND/JPY - down 0.98 VND for buying and down 1.02 VND for selling.
At Eximbank, the buying rate decreased by 1.47 VND and the selling rate decreased by 1.5 VND, respectively, to 163.38 VND/JPY and 168.05 VND/JPY. At Techcombank, the buying rate decreased by 1.3 VND and the selling rate decreased by 1.32 VND, respectively, to 159.47 VND/JPY and 170.46 VND/JPY. At Sacombank, the buying rate decreased by 1.23 VND and the selling rate decreased by 1.24 VND, respectively, to 164.23 VND/JPY and 169.27 VND/JPY.
Thus, today Sacombank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Eximbank is the bank with the lowest selling rate among the banks.
USD exchange rate increased sharply
The USD exchange rate today, January 18, continued to increase by 65 VND in both buying and selling directions. The world USD continued to increase strongly, reaching the highest level in a month.
The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank today is adjusted to 24,017 VND/USD, an increase of 30 VND compared to the trading session on January 17.
Currently, the exchange rate allowed for trading by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,167 VND/USD. The US Dollar exchange rate has also been brought to the buying and selling range by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) from 23,400 to 25,167 VND/USD.

The USD exchange rate at banks and domestic foreign exchange rates this morning recorded a series of upward adjustments at banks. Specifically, Vietcombank has a buying price of 24,330 and a selling price of 24,700, an increase of 65 VND compared to the trading session on January 17. The current USD buying and selling prices are in the range of 23,400 - 25,300 VND/USD.
In the world market, the Dollar Index (DXY), measuring the USD against 6 major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 103.52 points - up 0.16% compared to the transaction on January 17.
Domestic coffee price is nearly 73,000 VND/kg
Domestic coffee prices were updated at 5:12 a.m. on January 18, increasing dramatically, reaching a peak of 72,800 VND/kg, averaging 72,600 VND/kg in the Central Highlands provinces, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong and Dak Lak provinces was 72,800 VND/kg.
Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is quite high at 72,700 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at the highest price of 72,800 VND/kg.
The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha is purchased at 72,200 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak province, coffee in Cu M'gar district is purchased at 72,700 VND/kg, while in Ea H'leo district and Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 72,800 VND/kg.
