After committing the crime, Du Van Thanh turned himself in to the Luc Ngan District Police. It is known that Thanh and his wife had separated. Initially, the authorities determined that Thanh had borrowed 200 million VND from Mr. L but had not paid back, so Mr. L sued him in court.
